A big thank you to pupils from St Cecilia’s, who have done a great job of planting out the two
raised beds that we have installed at the Revelstoke Road and Wimbledon Park Road
entrances, funded by a grant from the Wimbledon Foundation (the charitable arm of the
AELTC). The students will be responsible for looking after these beds throughout the year, as
part of the volunteering and skills sections of their Duke of Edinburgh award. We are
currently also making plans for them to get involved in carrying out regular water-quality
testing on the lake. Meanwhile, FOWP volunteers turned out on a cold December day to plant
900 bulbs which we received free from Bulbs for London. Squirrels have dug up a few of
them but hopefully there will still be plenty left to make a good spring display.
